KMCH, Tucker Honored by Iowa Broadcast News Association
Mix 94.7 KMCH in Manchester was recognized by the Iowa Broadcast News Association with several awards for their 2015 news and weather coverage at the association’s annual convention in Waterloo on Saturday night, April 23.
KMCH competes against other small market radio stations across the state in this annual contest. Large market radio stations, as well as small and large market television stations, also compete in the IBNA news contest.
KMCH was honored with first place for Overall Excellence in Weather Coverage – specifically, for the station’s coverage last June of the severe storm that caused widespread wind damage across Delaware County and the surrounding area.
KMCH News Director Janelle Tucker was recognized with third place in the IBNA’s top awards category for Overall Excellence in news coverage. Tucker also received first place in General Reporting (for news coverage on the West Delaware school bus rollover last October), second place for Anchoring (which is based on voice presentation) and honorable mention in the Feature category (which was a story on the Delaware County Cash Mob’s debut at The Store in Colesburg last April).
Tucker has also been re-elected to serve a third term on the Iowa Broadcast News Association Board of Directors.
